Klub K09 - Low Threshold Facility for Children and Youth - Prague

The Low Threshold Facility for Children and Youth is a registered social service pursuant to §62 of Act 108/2006 Coll. On Social Services.

Target group

• children and youth aged 6 to 26 endangered by socially undesirable phenomena

During opening hours, the target group is limited to the age of 9-19, and other clients can come for individual consultations outside of opening hours.

Dealing with a person interested in the service

When dealing with interested parties, we try to find out their age and contract. They must also agree with the service rules which we will explain to them in detail.

Detailed description of service implementation

The goal of the low threshold facility for children and youth is to ensure support for handling difficult life situations, lower the social risks stemming from conflictual social situations, lifestyle, and high-risk behaviour, increase the social skills and abilities of children and minors, support social inclusion into a group of peers as well as the society, including the inclusion into the activities of the local community, and to provide the necessary mental, physical, legal, and social protection during one´s stay in the facility, and the conditions to realize personal activities. This service is for children and youth who have found themselves in a difficult life situation or are endangered by such a situation, and who do not seek standard forms of institutionalized help and care. It is about establishing contact, providing information, professional help, support, and the creation of conditions for social inclusion and positive change in one´s lifestyle. We implement all these activities through individual planning. The service also includes working with an entire group.

Handling complaints

Should clients or people outside of the service be dissatisfied with our service, it is possible to file a complaint, doing so in several ways. We accept complaints in both anonymous and non-anonymous form. If the complaint is non-anonymous, we reply directly to the complaining party. If the complaint is anonymous, we will put out the reply on a noticeboard situated at the club for that purpose.

Termination of service

The user may terminate cooperation with the social service provider at any time and without stating the reasons. The provider may terminate cooperation only if the social service user severely violates the rules of cooperation (a so-called penalty exclusion of the user, e.g. in cases when the user physically assaults the worker). Cooperation between the contracting parties is terminated in cases when the social service user breaks contact, or the individual plan contract has been fulfilled (and the user does not request further services).

Payment for services:

Social services are provided free of charge. In case of facultative activities (out-of-club activities, trips), absence of charges cannot always be ensured. The user for example pays for their fare, entrance fee, and the like. Participation in such activities is always voluntary.

Premises, material, and technical equipment

The club premises include one larger main room (contact room) and one small room, which is utilized for individual talks between workers and clients. The club´s basic equipment includes furniture, a PC, table football, board games, books, and art supplies.
