Children's group Romodrom Stříbro II.

The already implemented project Children's group Romodrom Stříbro II., registration number CZ.03.1.51/0.0/0.0/19_101/0017030, was financed by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Employment.

The main goal of the project was to expand childcare services at the implementation site and thus improve conditions for the employment of women with children. The project supported women with children from socio-culturally disadvantaged backgrounds, for whom finding work is difficult. The aim of the children's group was also to create suitable conditions for the employment of parents with children, in addition to preparing children for integration into regular kindergarten or primary school. By operating the Children's group, we expanded our childcare services offer, which was previously inadequate or financially inaccessible for many of our clients. As part of attending the group, children learned skills that they will apply in life.

Who was the project intended for:

• parents with children until the start of the child's compulsory school attendance, i.e., parents of preschool children or caregivers
• of preschool children in a shared household, who are employed or actively seeking employment
• children up to the start of compulsory school attendance (from 1 to 6 years old)
• groups of disadvantaged children and parents, whose children do not normally attend kindergarten, mainly due to the family's low economic situation - the services were free of charge

What was offered:

• primarily activities similar to those in a traditional kindergarten: community circle, physical and movement activities indoors and outdoors, educational activities, graphomotor exercises, practice of social skills, artistic activities, music and movement activities, creative group activities, and more,
• adaptation to working with children from different socio-cultural backgrounds - especially strengthening individual work with the child, strengthening speech therapy exercises, activities to develop and expand vocabulary (fairy tales, rhymes, picture reading, etc.) and visual or auditory perception using children's knowledge from their socio-cultural environment (e.g. songs, dances, etc.),
• utilization of some experiential learning methods,
• regular support from a speech therapist if needed,
• creating a family environment,
• Emphasis was placed on the child's good adaptation. We are aware that the child's entry into a group is often the first experience of separation from parents and the home environment, which means a certain psychological burden not only for the children but also for the parents. We approach the child's adaptation individually and with consideration for the child's age. We know that good adaptation of the child affects their further functioning in the group and the development of the child's skills and abilities.

The capacity of the children's group was 12 places.

Conditions for admission to the Children's Group:

• properly completed application and contract for the provision of services of the Children's Group,
• confirmation from a doctor of the child's health eligibility,
• confirmation of the status of the supported person (legal representative of the child/parent) in the labor market,
• completion of the monitoring sheet of the supported person

Principles of provision:

• services are provided for FREE
• discretion
• support for children in healthy development
• individual approach
