Community work in Semněvice 2018

The project was funded by a grant from the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic through the Prevention of Social Exclusion and Community Work program, a purpose grant from the Plzeň Region, and a gift from the Municipality of Semněvice.

What did the service offer?

Through the project implementation, we aimed to reduce tensions between Roma residents of apartments in panel buildings in the municipality of Semněvice (Domažlice district, Plzeň Region) and other residents of the municipality, including its representatives, and among the members of the Roma community itself. In the given locality, socially excluded individuals live in close proximity to other residents. The project's goal was the full integration of socially disadvantaged citizens into the local community and the establishment of good relationships among all residents of the area. At the same time, our aim was to alleviate the social exclusion of Roma in unfavorable life situations and to empower the supported individuals towards independence so that they could independently address their situation and serve as an example of good practice within the community to motivate others.
