Debt counseling in Semněvice and community work in the village of Semněvice. The Debt Counseling and Community Work project in Semněvice, registration number CZ.03.2.60/0.0/0.0/16_052/0016672, was funded by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Employment. The project aimed to reduce tensions between residents of socially excluded areas and other Semněvice residents, improve mutual coexistence, stabilize the economic and social situation of individuals, guide them towards resolving their debts and responsible approach to their obligations, and renew and develop key competencies, skills, knowledge, and abilities through community work. Place of provision: Semněvice Village. Target audience: socially excluded individuals or those at risk of social exclusion.

What we offered:

Debt counseling

• Support in gaining an understanding of the financial situation of the service recipient through mapping obligations,
• Basic advice and orientation in the social system,
• Practical training in this area (filling out payment orders, debt repayment, budget management, rent and utility payments, how to obtain and maintain employment, etc.),
• Assistance and support in dealing with matters at offices, electricity and gas suppliers,
• Assistance in communication with bailiffs and other creditors or in drafting requests for repayment schedules and other documents related to debts,
• Assistance in filing for insolvency and debt relief with the relevant court,
• Increasing the financial literacy of the service recipient and instructing them on how to protect their rights when entering into contractual relationships,
• Motivating the service recipient to address indebtedness and manage financial resources responsibly.

Professional debt counseling

• Mobilizing resources within the community of individuals living in socially excluded areas,
• Supporting the creation of a community capable of addressing the problems affecting this community,
• Involving all relevant parties who can contribute expertise to solving the specific problem, based on their position or otherwise according to the nature of the problematic situation.
