Field Programs - Liberec Region
The Field Services Project Romodrom Liberec, reg. no.: CZ.03.2.60/0.0/0.0/16_052/0007797 was financed by the European Social Fund, through the Operational Program Employment.
The aim of the provided social service was to eliminate or mitigate the impacts of social exclusion in the lives of social service users (people socially excluded or at risk of social exclusion). The social service provided necessary assistance and support to these individuals in addressing their problems in a field form.
Providing Locations:
- excluded areas of the city of Liberec (streets Vojanova, Sportovní, Rybářská, Kolora Nádraží, Podještědská, city center)
- excluded areas of the city of Jablonec
Who the service was intended for:
- individuals over 15 years old,
- individuals living in socially excluded communities,
- individuals leading a risky way of life or are endangered by this way of life,
- ethnic minorities.
What the service offered:
It was a registered social service according to § 69 of Act No. 108/2006 Coll. on social services, which was provided in the above-mentioned excluded locations. Workers in the natural environment of service users offered basic support and active assistance in the following areas:
- basic counseling: providing necessary information leading to the solution of the user's unfavorable social situation - serves both to orient in the problem that reduces the quality of his life, and to orient in the possibilities of help in solving his problem
- mediation of contact with the social environment: activities enabling better orientation in relationships taking place in the social environment (e.g. providing information on legislative changes, explaining rights and obligations, etc.)
- accompaniment to institutions: based on the user's wish, the service user's worker accompanied him in dealings with institutions and supported him in independent dealings (Labor Office, legal representative, Department of Material Need Benefits)
- assistance in handling routine matters: assistance in drafting various types of applications (handling material need benefits, state social support, social housing, etc.), assistance in handling documents, understanding official correspondence, filling out forms, assistance in drafting appeals against decisions, etc.
- assistance in restoring or strengthening contact with family: support in further activities supporting social inclusion (e.g. planning and compiling a family budget; communication with housing owners, hostel owners, authorities, etc.)
- referral of contacts to follow-up care institutions: the service user was informed about follow-up care institutions, i.e. self-government bodies and organizations providing specialized social assistance, with the aim of successfully solving the service user's problem - workers could help the service user arrange a meeting with the relevant institution based on his request, or accompany the service user to this institution (accompaniment to subsequent care services, mediation of contact with specialized organizations - psychologist, doctor, etc.)
- work with the service user in his natural environment: working with the service user in the environment where he normally moves
- social work: individual work with the service user focused on the user's education - in the topic being addressed, strengthening competencies, independence, and overall independence from social services
- social therapeutic activities: providing led to the development or maintenance of personal social skills and abilities, supporting the social inclusion of individuals, (e.g. assistance in job search, assistance in securing retraining courses, assistance in compiling a family budget, etc.)
