Field Programs - Moravian-Silesian Region - Opportunity for Homeless Individuals

The main goal of the program was to assist individuals excluded from housing, who are often prejudicially labeled as "problematic" and deemed "risky" by housing owners. Through collaboration with real estate market stakeholders, we achieved an effective connection between those in need of housing and available housing stock. Target groups were enabled to live in standard conditions without time restrictions. This innovation resulted in saving public resources (expenditures on social benefits) while simultaneously improving housing quality.

Client collaboration was conducted on an individual basis, or in small groups (e.g., with married couples). Key project activities focused on supporting the functional literacy of the target group (knowledge of housing rights and obligations, financial literacy, defense against unauthorized eviction attempts, etc.), supporting housing for selected project participants, and developing and strengthening cooperation with apartment owners.

The project "Opportunity for Homeless Individuals," reg. no. CZ.1.04/3.1.02/B7.00050, is funded by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Human Resources and Employment and from the state budget of the Czech Republic.

The project was implemented in the period from 1.5.2014 to 30.6.2015 in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
