Humanitarian response, protection, and recovery for socially excluded Ukrainian Roma

The project "Humanitarian Response, Protection, and Recovery for Social Excluded Ukrainian Roma" was funded by C&A through the COFRA Foundation. Romodrom implemented it from May 1 to December 31, 2023.

Project goal:
  • Improving the situation of Roma people in socially excluded Roma communities in western Ukraine, especially in the area of basic human needs.

Target audience of the project:
  • The project was aimed at socially excluded Roma people in Ukraine in the locations of Mukachevo, Perechyn, and Zarichovo. Residents in these locations often face difficulties in accessing basic needs such as food and drinking water.
  • The project focused on particularly vulnerable groups, such as women, children, seniors, and people with disabilities.

What the project offered:
  • The project provided assistance to the aforementioned groups in securing basic needs through regular monthly trips with humanitarian aid. As part of the humanitarian aid, packages of basic food items for households, hot meals through community cooking, as well as clothing, hygiene, and school supplies were distributed.
