PREROD 2023

The article focuses on a completed project. For current activities of Romodrom in the field of penitentiary, visit this page. The aim of the project was prevention, intervention, and reducing the risk of possible recidivism in individuals returning from serving a sentence (VTOS) and their successful integration into society with concurrent support of the family system, for individuals and families permanently residing in Prague.

The project was implemented from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023.

Project Goal:

The PREROD project focused on preventing recidivism and supporting individuals after serving a prison sentence who were reintegrating into everyday life in Prague. A key element was working not only with the client but also with their family, which plays a crucial role in successful integration.

Direct Care Worker:

  • conducted motivational interviews,
  • provided social counseling (employment, finances, addiction treatment, communication with authorities),
  • prepared the family for the return of the member from prison and helped them cope with possible changes.

The aim was to stabilize the family environment, reduce the risk of recidivism, and strengthen the family's resilience against socially pathological phenomena (unemployment, addictions, gambling).

The PREROD 2023 project complemented standard social services and built on field programs and a prison program that we implement in Prague and other regions of the Czech Republic.
