Preventing loss of housing in vulnerable refugees from Ukraine II (IOM)

The aim of the project "Preventing loss of housing in vulnerable refugees from Ukraine II" was to contribute to the prevention and resolution of housing-related crises. The project was based on the concept of the Housing First program, where housing is a prerequisite for all other forms of support and integration, and therefore focuses on securing and/or maintaining housing for project recipients.

The project was implemented from 1. 10. 2024 to 31. 12. 2024

Project goal:

Addressing housing-related crisis situations. The project was based on the Housing First model, which recognizes stable housing as a prerequisite for successful social support and integration. The methodology combined the Housing First principle with the approach of mobile teams, enabling flexible and targeted assistance in regions.
The project expanded existing activities with two new mobile teams. While the existing teams operated in the Karlovy Vary, Hradec Králové, Central Bohemian (including Prague), South Bohemian, and South Moravian regions, the new teams focused on:
  • Liberec, Plzeň, and Pardubice regions
  • Olomouc and Zlín regions (with an emphasis on Šumperk, Otrokovice, and Valašské Meziříčí).

Target Group:

The project was aimed at particularly vulnerable groups of refugees from Ukraine living in the Czech Republic as a result of the war conflict, facing homelessness. These were individuals disadvantaged by ethnic or cultural background, unfavorable economic situation, low financial literacy, language barrier, and discrimination. Also included are vulnerable groups defined by law: students, seniors over 65, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, and other individuals at risk of losing housing.
