Room2Roma

"Together against discrimination."

Project Room2Roma, ID:22110029, was an international project implemented in the Visegrad Group countries, namely in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary, and was funded by the Visegrad Fund.

The project was implemented from February 1, 2021 to November 11, 2022.

Project Goals

The main goal of the project was to facilitate access to decent housing for Roma, especially by reducing prejudices against them. The project aimed to improve the overall perception of Roma as neighbors in society. The uniqueness of the Room2Roma project lay in the international cooperation of V4 countries, where all partners joined forces to change the perspective of the majority society towards Roma as neighbors.

Discrimination against Roma leads to living in undignified conditions and excluded areas, and excluded areas in turn lead back to discrimination. The Room2Roma project aimed to break this vicious circle. Changing social perception is as important as housing itself.

The project launched 4 current campaigns based on the success stories of Roma who, thanks to our work and our partner organizations, managed to find decent housing. The project targeted multiple groups: Roma, the general population, public authorities, accommodation providers, and Romani non-governmental organizations.
