ReChance

Romodom o.p.s. was a partner organization of the European project RECHANCE focused on educating individuals who have been through imprisonment. The project was implemented from December 1, 2020, to November 30, 2022. For information on Romodrom's current activities in the field of imprisonment, visit the summary page here

The project aimed at educating and supporting their personal development, increasing their chances of reintegrating into society through rehabilitation and acquiring new knowledge, skills, and competencies. At the same time, the project focuses on individuals involved in educating these people through coaching, mentoring, differential pedagogy, inclusive education, training methods, and practices.

The aim of the project was: 1. for former prisoners to acquire skills and knowledge important for personal development and social inclusion, 2. strengthening competencies for "real life" in the field of social skills, 3. support of the rehabilitation process through educational materials, tools, and other development resources, 4. support for trainers, offering innovative solutions and an inclusive pedagogical approach, 5. comprehensive training for trainers considering different backgrounds and individual needs of prisoners, 6. digitization of quality educational content and the use of ICT leading to systematic change and increase in the quality of adult education. The project took place in 6 European countries and involved 8 organizations from diverse backgrounds with rich experiences and an emphasis on promoting the culture of adult education. These organizations are from Greece, Center for Social Innovation and European University Cyprus from Cyprus, Prism from Italy, Znam i Moga from Bulgaria, and Spectrum Research Centrez from Ireland. The individual project partners collaborated on specific objectives, which included identifying the needs of people with a prison background, curriculum development, creating a mobile application and websites for the education of former prisoners, and creating an educational handbook. Throughout the project, all partners informed the expert public about project activities, and the project concluded with a conference in October 2022. The project was funded by the Erasmus+ program.
