Social Activation Service for Families with Children - Central Bohemian Region
The project Support of selected types of social services in the Central Bohemian Region III, reg. no.: CZ.03.2.60/0.0/0.0/15_005/0014160 was financed by the European Social Fund, through the Operational Program Employment.
The aim of the service was to provide support to individuals from the target group in acquiring competencies in the field of child rearing and education, to support them in adopting parenting behavior, household management, and budgeting, to facilitate their contact and provide support in acquiring competencies in dealing with authorities, schools, and educational facilities. Furthermore, to provide support to individuals from the target group in coping with difficult life and social events. The project focused on supporting selected types of social services, especially social prevention services in the Central Bohemian Region.
Service provision locations:
- town of Slaný and surroundings - Hostel Mexiko, Kreibichova St., Luka hostel, Finnish cottages on Nosačická St., Palaba hostel, Trpoměchy, Zlonice, Výšinek, Velvary.
Who was the service intended for:
- children and youth aged 6 to 26 at risk of socially undesirable phenomena,
- individuals living in socially excluded communities,
- individuals leading a risky way of life or endangered by this way of life,
- families with a child/children,
- ethnic minorities.
What the service offered:
It was a registered social service according to § 65 of Act No. 108/2006 Coll. on social services, provided in Slaný and its surroundings, within which we offered support to families in crisis social situations that they cannot overcome without help, and which jeopardize the development of their children.
- educational, educational, and activation activities (work education activities with children - support for parental competencies in teaching children, home preparation of children for school, finding suitable interest groups and leisure activities for children),
- work education activities with adults (for example, support and training in parenting behavior including household management and maintenance, support and training in social skills in dealings with authorities, schools, educational institutions),
- training and strengthening of the child's motor, mental, and social abilities and skills,
- providing conditions and support for adequate education of children,
- providing conditions for socially acceptable leisure activities - mediating contact with the social environment (accompanying children to school, educational institutions, to the doctor, to interest activities and accompanying back),
- social therapeutic activities - sociotherapeutic activities that lead to the development or maintenance of personal and social skills and abilities supporting the social inclusion of individuals,
- assistance in asserting rights, legitimate interests, and in handling personal matters (assistance in dealing with routine matters),
- assistance in restoring or strengthening contact with the family and assistance and support in further activities supporting the social inclusion of individuals.
Principles of provision:
- the service was provided to users free of charge,
- clients were guided towards independence,
- the worker approached each user individually with regard to their needs, possibilities, resources, social situation, and personal plans,
- the client's decision in choosing a solution to their adverse situation was fully respected by the workers; service workers provided their assistance to users independently and informed users that they did not have the competencies of a state employee,
- the worker did not take sides when dealing with users, applying equal treatment to users,
- all workers met the professional qualifications according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on social services, and continuously educated themselves.
Project Support for Selected Types of Social Services in the Central Bohemian Region III. was implemented from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020.
The project was a continuation of the Social Services Romodrom Slaný II., which took place from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2019.
