Supporting Inclusion in Slaný

The Supporting Inclusion in Slaný project, reg. no. CZ.02.3.61/0.0/0.0/16_039/0011270, was funded by the European Social Fund, through the Operational Program Research, Development, and Education, and by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports.

The main goal of the project was inclusion in education. The project focused on supporting children/students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in Slaný and their parents with the aim of integrating them into the mainstream education system and managing kindergarten/school without difficulties.

Location of Provision:

• city of Slaný

Target Audience of the Project:

• preschool children from socioeconomically disadvantaged and culturally diverse backgrounds,
• elementary school students from socioeconomically disadvantaged and culturally diverse backgrounds,
• parents or legal guardians of these children and students.

What we offered:

• Educational center for preschool children - aimed at children aged 3 to 7 (preschool), the goal of the educational center was to increase the participation of children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds in preschool education,
• Tutoring for students at risk of academic failure - aimed at elementary school students, the goal of the activity was to support students in achieving academic success and prevent them from dropping out of education prematurely,
• Parental support and collaboration - the goal of the activity was to motivate parents to support their children's education, collaboration and communication of families with important stakeholders directly or indirectly involved in their children's lives - especially educational institutions.

Other activities:

• Introducing new methods into preschool education and upbringing - the goal was to enhance the qualifications of direct service workers,
• Actively seeking out and engaging families of children not participating in preschool education - the goal of the activity was to increase family involvement in preschool education, ideally placing a child of preschool age in kindergarten,
• Close collaboration with elementary and preschools in the city of Slaný, with departments of the municipal office, with the Agency for Social Inclusion, speech therapists, NGOs, and many other institutions.

• Discretion, the option to use the service anonymously
• Support for independent resolution of needs
• Individual approach
• Respect for the user's free will

The Support for Inclusion in Slaný project was implemented from May 1, 2019, to April 30, 2022.
