The project was implemented from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2025. It is directly followed by the project Support for Roma families with children in Liberec and Tanvald region II., which will last until the summer of 2027.
Project goal:
The aim of the project was to support and strengthen the parenting skills of Roma families with children up to 15 years old in Liberec and Tanvald. The project helped parents better manage child-rearing, communicate with schools, and other important areas of family life. Where did the project take place?
The project was carried out in the following locations:
- Liberec
- Tanvald region: Albrechtice in the Jizera Mountains, Desná, Harrachov, Jiřetín pod Bukovou, Josefův Důl, Kořenov, Plavy, Smržovka, Tanvald, Velké Hamry, Zásada, Zlatá Olešnice.

What the project offered:
The main goal of the project was to support families and improve parenting skills. Activities took place in a natural environment and focused on:

Search and address families for cooperation
Mapping family needs
Not only in the field of educating children, but also in other aspects of family life.
Creation of a family development plan
His ongoing monitoring and evaluation.
Accompanying parents
Help with solving various situations
Information and training activities
Help with the development of parenting skills
Support when contacting schools and kindergartens
Facilitation of communication with educational institutions
Preparation of preschool children
Preparation for starting first grade, preparation for changes.
Accompanying a child to school
Support with learning and fulfilling school obligations

Methodology of the project Supporting Roma families with children in Liberec and Tanvald. The methodology was developed during the project with the involvement of the entire implementation team (key field workers, social workers, and educational workers). It presents the main topics that the workers dealt with during their work with Roma families affected by social exclusion. The methodology also provides numerous examples from practice collected during the project.
