Supporting the Development of Parental Competencies in Bílina

The project Supporting the Development of Parental Competencies in Bílina, reg. no. CZ.03.02.03/00/24_076/0005267, is co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Employment Plus.

Who is the project intended for:

Roma families at risk of social exclusion in the city of Bílina. By developing parental competencies, we will strengthen the stability of these families, reduce the likelihood of their breakup and premature departure of children from education, thus breaking the cycle of intergenerational reproduction of social and economic exclusion.

What the project offers:

Support for households with children focused on:
  • Strengthening the quality of family relationships and working on parenting skills, such as adequate communication with the child, encouragement, showing interest and listening, emotional support and empathy development, regulating one's own emotions, boosting the confidence of the parent/caregiver and the child, sharing experiences and skills, formulating appropriate expectations and evaluations, handling criticism and guidance, etc.
  • Developing the skills of parents/caregivers related to household management and creating a safe environment for children's development, including developing parents'/caregivers' capacities to motivate children to participate in household chores, setting/planning daily routines, scheduling household tasks, and practicing domestic work.
  • Developing parents'/caregivers' mindfulness towards the causes and appropriate responses to addressing unusual or challenging child behavior, as well as facilitating the resolution of family conflicts and building capacities for non-violent dispute resolution.
  • Strengthening the resilience and ability of the family to function in the mainstream environment and institutions.
  • Supporting families in preparing for parenthood and caring for newborns and infants.
