Helping Victims of Unlawful Sterilizations II.

Project Goal:

The main goal of the project is to provide assistance in processing applications according to Act No. 297/2021 Coll., on the provision of a one-time financial amount to women sterilized against the law and on the amendment of certain related laws.

The Romodrom organization, o.p.s., will support a minimum of 40 women within the project who have already submitted an application and need support or assistance in further proceedings.

Who is the project for?

• Roma women who are victims of illegal sterilizations under Act No. 297/2021 Coll.;
• Women at any stage of compensation proceedings, including those who have not yet submitted an application;
• Youthful Roma from excluded areas, elementary school students - prevention of unwanted pregnancies and education on rights.

What we offer:

• Individual assistance and protection of the rights of women who have been unlawfully sterilized, through peer workers;
• Assistance in submitting applications and communication with the Ministry of Health;
• Provision of legal support;
• Prevention and education on patient rights, reproductive health, and family planning;

Operating Hours:

• Office meeting by appointment with a staff member;
• Travel distance by prior arrangement based on the destination 2 - 3 hours.
