The aim of the project was to improve social inclusion and prevent social exclusion through the provision of professional social counseling services. The service aimed to help individuals facing difficult economic situations due to over-indebtedness, those at risk of social exclusion, and socially excluded individuals.
The service was provided both in the user's natural environment and in an outpatient clinic that provided the necessary privacy to address the needs of the target group.
Who was the service intended for?
- individuals over 18 years old
- individuals at risk of over-indebtedness
- individuals living in socially excluded communities or at risk of social exclusion
- individuals leading a risky lifestyle or at risk due to this lifestyle
- ethnic minorities
What did the service offer?
It was a registered social service according to § 37 of Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on Social Services, provided both in an outpatient setting and in the natural environment of clients in the Central Bohemian Region, offering assistance in resolving difficult economic situations through social work.
As an accredited entity, we offered the following debt counseling services:
- basic identification of the debt situation
- communication with bailiffs - proposals for repayments, reduction or waiver of penalties
- in justified cases, the possibility to use legal counseling
- preparation, processing, and submission of insolvency proposals
- financial management support - advice on social benefits
- assistance in dealing with legal institutions
Service principles:
- the service is provided to users free of charge
- clients are guided towards independence
- the worker approaches each user individually with regard to their needs, possibilities, resources, social situation, and personal plans
- the client's decision in choosing a solution to their unfavorable situation is fully respected by the workers
- service workers provide their assistance to users independently and inform users that they do not have the competencies of a state employee
- the worker does not favor anyone when dealing with users, applying equal access to users
- all workers meet the professional qualification according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on social services
