The project Professional Social Counseling Stříbro, reg. no.: CZ.03.2.65/0.0/0.0/16_047/0016073, was financed by the European Social Fund through the Operational Program Employment.

The aim of the service was to contribute to improving the client's social situation, support their social inclusion, and prevent social exclusion through the provision of professional social counseling. The service offered assistance in resolving difficult life situations. The service was provided both in the user's natural environment and in an outpatient clinic that provides the necessary privacy to address the requirements of the target group.

Who was the service intended for?

• individuals over 18 years of age,
• socially excluded individuals and those at risk of social exclusion,
• individuals at risk of over-indebtedness.

What the service offered:

• social counseling - solving unfavorable social situations (individually and according to the client's needs), possibility to address client needs in a natural environment (by agreement of client visits)
• housing - counseling in the area of housing, possibility to create a housing financial plan (benefits, rent, services, utilities), provision of basic legal services related to housing (contracts, terminations), support in communication with housing owners and landlords
• social benefits - specialized counseling in the field of benefit legislation, dealing with non-insurance social benefits by the material need department in favor of the user
• family and criminal law - handling citizenship and documents, communication with the registry office
• employment - counseling in dealing with the Czech Labor Office, basic evaluation of the situation in terms of selecting suitable employment, counseling in the field of labor law, mediation of contact with employers to obtain a job for the service user
• debt counseling - providing expert debt counseling from debt analysis to personal bankruptcy, mapping the financial situation and support in financial management, providing legal advice in the conclusion of contracts and handling of assets
• legal advice - providing the possibility of legal consultation in justified cases, consultation on legal acts (drafting applications, appeals, proposals, and assistance with official documents), assistance in contacting legal institutions
• communication with institutions and related services - counseling in communication with courts, mediation of expert assistance such as psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and escort to related institutions, providing information on related services in social, health, and educational areas

Principles of provision:

• service is provided to users free of charge
• staff approach each user individually, taking into account their needs, possibilities, resources, social situation, and personal plans
• clients are supported in independence and strengthening competencies
• client's decision in choosing a solution to their adverse situation is fully respected by staff
• service staff provide assistance to users independently and inform users that they do not have the competencies of a state employee
• staff do not favor anyone when dealing with users, applying equal access to users
• all staff meet professional qualifications according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on social services
